Jesus We Welcome You Here

To welcome Jesus is more than words spoken in a moment. It is an invitation of the heart — a willingness to open, to receive, and to respond.

Scripture shows that Jesus does not force His way in. He stands at the door and waits.

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in.”
Revelation 3:20

The act of welcoming is ours. The presence that follows is His.

This welcome is not limited to a building or a gathering. It begins personally.

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit?”
1 Corinthians 6:19

To welcome Jesus is to recognise that He desires to dwell within, not just visit occasionally.

When Jesus was welcomed into homes throughout the Gospels, things changed. Lives were restored, sins were forgiven, and truth was spoken.

“Today salvation has come to this house.”
Luke 19:9

His presence brings transformation.

But welcoming Him also requires humility.

“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
James 4:6

Pride resists His presence. Humility receives it.

It also requires attentiveness.

“Be still, and know that I am God.”
Psalm 46:10

In a world of noise and distraction, welcoming Jesus means creating space — inwardly and outwardly — for Him to be known.

This welcome is not a one-time act. It is ongoing.

“Remain in me, as I also remain in you.”
John 15:4

A continual openness. A daily returning.

When Jesus is welcomed, He does not remain on the edges. He becomes central.

His presence reshapes priorities, redirects desires, and brings clarity.

So the invitation is simple, but profound.

Jesus, we welcome you here.

Not just in words, but in truth.

Amen.
